Integrated 1D and 2D code reading system

To ensure the inline reading of code information (1D and 2D codes) from various surfaces and different sides of products, NIRMECH RPC OOO offers code reading systems.

System configuration

  • photo module (high-aperture lens cameras and proximity sensor)
  • lighting module (linear-type LED light sources)
  • control unit module (electrical control cabinet where the following components are installed: power supply, light tower, terminal strips, digital input/output control module, computational server)
  • control panel module (operator touch panel with at least 21 inch responsive screen)
  • frame module (the frame is made of interconnected structural aluminum shapes with a plexiglass cover)

Modular design allows further expansion/upgrade of the following modules

Reading systems have the following functions:

  • Read all common and standard 1D and 2D codes (UPC, EAN, Codabar, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Interleaved 2 to 5, Data Matrix, QR Code, MaxiCode, PDF417).
  • Minimum readable code size: several millimeters to several centimeters. Maximum size is not limited.
  • Minimum coded product size: several millimeters to several centimeters. Maximum coded product size is not limited.
  • Reading speed: 5 to 10 codes per second.
  • Number of product sides for code reading: unlimited. The code readability from the product base surface shall be clarified separately.
  • Implementation of various read code processing algorithms: for example, search among all read serial number codes using a given mask, etc.
  • The modular design allows to increase the number of reading sides in existing systems.
  • Electronic report documents may be created based on the results of reading codes in all known formats (txt, csv, xml, json and others).
  • With wide integrateability, our reading systems may be implemented in almost any production line taking into account the production specifics, both at the hardware and software levels (hardware integration into a conveyor system, software integration into SCADA, MES and WMS).
  • Graphical operator interface is developed taking into account customer requirements.

Reading systems have the following functions

Compared to existing market offers of code information reading systems, our reading system has the following advantages:

  1. Reading small-sized codes: up to a few millimeters in height and width

    Our system achieves this by using 20 MP or more high-resolution cameras. The machine vision systems market offers ready-made readers with a resolution of about 5 MP. In large areas, this requires to increase the number of readers and, accordingly, significantly increases the system cost.

  2. Generation of electronic reports in various formats

    Existing solutions do not allow to generate reports or use various formats (txt, csv, xml, json etc.).

  3. Hardware-level integration

    The reading system can be implemented into most existing types of conveyor and inline product transfer systems.

    When appropriate, a conveyor line for code reading can be designed and made.

  4. Software-level integration

    The reading system can be implemented into most existing types of production systems at different SCADA, MES and WMS levels.

  5. Cost and timing of reading system implementation

    Our company develops both the software and hardware parts of the system so we can always offer our customers fast and reliable implementation as well as a flexible pricing approach.
